Day 1: San Pedro Sula You will be welcomed at the international airport of San Pedro Sula and transfered to your hotel. Overnight. Day 2: San Pedro Sula - Copán You will be met at your hotel by a Mesoamerica representative who will transfer you to the direct service bus to Copán. On your way to Copán you will travel through beautiful countryside. A hotel reservation will be made for you in Copán. This hotel is only a short walk from the direct bus terminal. The rest of the afternoon is left free to enjoy and explore the picturesque village of Copán. 2 Overnights in Copán. Day 3: Copán This morning we will visit with our local guide the Archaeological Park of Copán, which consists of two main sites: the Ruins and the Sepulchres. We will learn about the amazing 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and the masterfully carved Stella. In the afternoon we also visit Las Sepulturas which was a residental and burial site of the Mayan nobles. Overnight in Copán.

Day 4: Copán - Quirguá / Guatemala - Río Dulce Your private Mesoamerica Travel Guide welcomes you around 09:00 AM at the hotel. Departure from Copán toward the Guatemalan Caribbean. On the road we will visit the Quiriguá archaeological site where some of the best Mundo Maya stela may be found. At mid afternoon arrival at Río Dulce, an exceptionally rich ecological area. Time to have a cold drink in your hotel overlooking the river. Overnight in Río Dulce. Day 5: Río Dulce - Livingston This morning, the adventure will take place by boat through one of our more prestige natural beauties : Río Dulce. We visit Livingston, a community of "Garífuna Blacks" that can only be reached by water, time to discover this lively village. In the afternoon return to Río Dulce for overnight. Day 6: Río Dulce - Omoa - San Pedro Sula / Honduras Continuing through the Guatemalan Caribbean driving through landscape and banana plantations we will reach the border with Honduras at Corinto, reaching the next Caribbean beach village, Omoa. Omoa is one of the oldest towns in Honduras. We will visit the historical San Fernando Fortress built by the Spaniards to protect the coastline and ships from attacks by British pirates. The fortress offers a magnificent view of the bay and the Merendón mountain range. In the afternoon we continue to San Pedro Sula. Overnight. Day 7: San Pedro Sula - Tela After breakfast we leave again to the Caribbean Coast. Today we visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden. The United Fruit Company founded the gardens over 70 years ago as an experimental botanical site. Here you will find hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. You will see how the bamboo forest absorbs some 90% of the daylight, admire the long rows of majestic Royal Palms or try exotic fruits fresh from the tree. An Orchid Garden and a Natural Reserve with a beautiful 1,200 hectares of virgin tropical rainforest make up this wonderful natural area. We continue to Tela where our privateguide says good bye. 3 Overnights in Tela.
Day 8 + 9: Tela Two days left free to enjoy the sun, sand and tropical atmosphere of the Caribbean coast of Honduras. Optional excursions to nearby national parks may be organized at an additional cost. For example Punta Sal National Park invites you to a boat trip to explore the cristal clear waters of the Carribbean Sea, hike through the jungle and taste a typical Garifuna style lunch. The excursion to Punta Izopo National Park involves kayaking through the maze of mangrove creeks and rivers that make up this national park. The kayaks offer the perfect mode of transport to explore the mangroves and silently sneak up on the many animals and birds that inhabit the park. Day 10: We transfer back to San Pedro Sula to connect with your international flight. End of program.
