Zapaton
The Zapaton belongs to the same family as the Ceiba. During the conquest,
the Spanish conquestadors near to death from starvation began to eat the
Zapaton fruit in order to survive. They cooked the fruit twice in order
to remove the bitter taste, when the natives saw this they gave the fruit
a new common name, it was, the travelers fruit.
