Fundación para la proteción de Capiro Calentura y Laguna Guaymoreto
The Foundation for the protection of Capiro Calentura and the Lagoon Guaymoreto (FUCAGUA) was founded in 1992. It is an apolitical, non-profit organization created to protect and establish sustainable management (through ecotourism) of the national park Capiro & Calentura and the Wildlife refugee Guaymoreto Lagoon. The foundation has information on all reserves in the area and also on hiking tours. FUCAGUA also administers the Wildlife refugee Laguna de Guaymoreto, northeast of Trujillo, where there is a bird island, monkeys and good fishing. FUCAGUA is a member of REHDES a network of seven NGOs based on the north coast of Honduras.
