The Environmentalist Foundation "Hector Rodrigo Pastor Fasquelle"
is one of the main environmental organizations for the conservation of
tropical forests. They have made an agreement with the government to take
care of the administration and management of the National Park Cusuco,
which consists of tropical cloudy forest 1200-2040 [m.s.n.m], located
at 2 hours to the west of San Pedro Sula. The foundation carries out projects
for community development, protection of the natural resources and biodiversity.
They provide all assistance for visits of groupsas well as individual
tourists. Due to its status as non profit organization, it accepts donations
for the maintenance of the national park.
