Day 1: San Pedro Sula - La Ceiba
In the morning you are picked up at your hotel and transferred to La Ceiba. En route we visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden, founded by the United Fruit Company as an experimental botanical site more than 80 years ago. Here you will find hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. You will see how the bamboo forest absorbs some 90% of the daylight. Admire the long rows of majestic Royal Palms or try exotic fruits fresh from the tree. An orchid garden and a natural reserve with a beautiful 1,200 hectares of virgin tropical rainforest make up this wonderful natural area. Later we continue to La Ceiba, the third largest and one of the merriest cities in the country. 2 overnights in La Ceiba.

Day 2: Pico Bonito National Park
Today we go hiking at one of Honduras' most beautiful national parks - Pico Bonito. The park gets its name from one of the two peaks it has. Beginning with its coastal lands and ascending up to 2,485 m, the parks diversity of ecosystems is still mostly unexplored. The park is home to a huge range of animal species. Some species that inhabit the park are Baird's Tapir, White Tailed Deer, Northern Raccoon, Nine banded Armadillo, Naked Tailed Armadillo, Jaguar, Mountain Lion, Kinkajou, Spider Monkey, White Faced Monkey, as well as many bird species. After an extensive hiking tour, you can refresh yourself at one of the numerous waterfalls.

Day 3: La Ceiba - San Pedro Sula
This morning is left free to enjoy the atmosphere of La Ceiba. Relax at the hotel pool or discover the vivid city on your own. Due to its proximity to the beach and the Bay Islands, the active nightlife, and the variety of parks and recreational areas in and around the city, La Ceiba is often called tourism capital of Honduras. The busiest tourist season by far is the week leading up to the internationally renowned "Gran Carnaval Internacional de La Ceiba" which is a citywide celebration in honor of the city's patron San Isidro. In the afternoon take the direct bus back to San Pedro Sula or extend your tour. La Ceiba is the perfect spot to combine your trip with an extension to the beautiful Bay Islands.
