Day 1: San Pedro Sula - Yojoa Lake
Meet with your guide in the morning in the lobby of your hotel. We then transfer to Lake Yojoa and visit the Pulhapanzak Falls, an impressive waterfall of 43 m. The land around the falls is covered with dense forest, a visually pleasing background for the falls. Various activities are offered on the site. A zipline has been set up that zigzags across the river, with one thrilling cross just after the waterfall drop-off. You can also visit a cave behind the waterfall, where Mayan artifacts are reputed to have been found. Enjoy the verdant forest and take a refreshing bath in the clear waters. Afterwards we continue to Lake Yojoa. On the banks of the lake there are numerous small restaurants that serve fresh bass and tilapia right out of the lake. In the afternoon there is time to relax in your nearby hotel, have a cold drink and enjoy the amazing view overlooking the lake. Overnight at Lake Yojoa.

Day 2: Yojoa Lake - San Pedro Sula
The region around Lake Yojoa is a birdwatchers paradise. The wetlands attract the greatest concentration of birds in the country. About 450 of the 700 species registered in Honduras can be found around this lake. After breakfast we visit Los Naranjos. This archaeological site was first considered to be a Mayan city. However, various investigations showed that the site, whose history dates back to the year 800 B.C., has probably been occupied by the ancestors of the Lenca. Stylistic features of the buildings and pottery suggest some Olmec influence in the early period and interaction with Mayan culture in later times. On a walk of approximately two hours we learn about some of the birds and plants home in this luxuriant forest. In the late afternoon we return to San Pedro Sula. End of the program or extension of your stay with another of our itineraries.
