Day 1: San Pedro Sula Arrival in San Pedro Sula. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in San Pedro Sula. Day 2: San Pedro Sula - Copán Your guide awaits you at 09:00 AM with your four-wheel drive vehicle at your hotel to start your tour through Honduras. We visit San Pedro Sula to observe the intense activity of the fastest growing city of Central America. A walk takes us to the museum and the central park with its cathedral. Afterwards we visit the local handicraft market Guamilito with its colorful stores inviting you to buy a nice souvenir. In the afternoon we will enjoy beautiful countryside as we travel to the picturesque village of Copán. Overnight in Copán. Day 3: Copán Today we will visit the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán Ruins, which consists of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchers. Learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella. In the afternoon we will visit "Las Sepulturas", a residential and burial site of the Mayan nobles. Overnight. Day 4: Copan Ruins - Santa Rosa We tour the village of Copan before we continue our way to Santa Rosa. We will visit the famous "Flor de Copán" tobacco factory (closed on Sundays) and the village. Overnight in Santa Rosa. Day 5: Santa Rosa - Celaque National Park / Gracias - La Esperanza Early in the morning we drive to Gracias straight to the Celaque National Park. With our 4x4 vehicle the road to the park´s entrance is not a problems. Today´s hiking through the park leads us through typical Central American pine forests. Honduras´ highest peak with its 2.849 metres can be found here, the Cerro de Las Minas. In the afternoon we enjoy the view from our car while we go on to Esperanza. The countryside will impress you! Overnight in La Esperanza. Day 6 + 7: La Esperanza - Azul Meambar National Park We transfer to the region around Yojoa Lake is rich in different habitat types; it is home or temporal host to a huge amount of migratory birds. Before we arrive at the park we will visit the impressive Pulhapanzak Waterfalls. Our way up to the visitor´s center is made possible thanks to our 4-wheel drive. The national park Cerro Azul Meambar works as a retreating area for a lot of species because of increased human activities around the Lake. Toucans, Orioles, Motmots, Parakeets and Parrots are just a small sample of the bird species living in the park. We explore the magnificent tropical forest types of the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The national park is one of the main protected areas around Lake Yojoa, which is fed by the small rivers of the surrounding mountains. We will hike to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest and the tropical cloud forest enjoying impressive views of the lake. 2 Overnights at Azul Meambar Visitor´s Center.

Day 8: Azul Meambar - Valle de Angeles After breakfast we start our tour to the capital´s region. We visit the Valle de Angeles with its famous traditional handicrafts made by the Lenca people und tour the village. We enjoy the evening in the quiet atmosphere of the small town. 2 Overnights. Day 9: Tegucigalpa - La Tigra National Park We transfer to the visitor´s center of La Tigra National Park. La Tigra pleases its visitors with everything a Honduran national park should have, from an abundance of exotic animal species to refreshing waterfalls to kilometers of peaceful, well maintained trails. Hike on park trails, over the mountain. During the hike, we have plenty of opportunity to enjoy and admire the beauty of the forest. In the afternoon we drive to Valle de Angeles, where we visit the famous National Handicraft Center. In the afternoon return to Tegucigalpa. Overnight. Day 10: Tegucigalpa - Trujillo Departure from the Tegucigalpa region to Olancho, Honduran´s interior where cowboys still roam, and 4x4´s are only way through the rough land. This region is one the most unknown in Honduras. Driving through a beautiful landscape we will reach the Caribbean town of Trujillo in the afternoon. In Trujillo the Fortress Santa Barbara and William Walker´s grave, the famous pirate, awaits us. Overnight in Trujillo. Day 11: Trujillo - Capiro y Calentura National Park Early morning excursion to the Capiro and Calentura National Park set on the mountain right behind Trujillo. Our truck once again proves it´s worth as it takes us smoothly to the park´s entrance. The mountain offers a great view of the majestic Trujillo Bay, one of the most beautiful ones in the country. In the afternoon we board a boat to explore the magnificent Guaymoreto Lagoon. Overnight in Trujillo. Day 12: Trujillo - Lancetilla - Tela Transfer to Tela, today we will travel through some of the most picturesque scenic areas of Honduras. En route we will visit La Ceiba, one the merriest towns in Honduras. We will take a city tour of the main attractions. Before reaching Tela we visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden. The United Fruit Company founded the gardens over 70 years ago as an experimental botanical site. Afterwards your private guide transfers you to the hotel and says good-bye. 2 Overnights in Tela. Day 13: Punta Izopo National Park In the morning we leave for Punta Izopo National Park. This excursion involves kayaking through the maze of mangrove creeks and rivers that make up this national park. The kayaks offer the perfect mode of transport to explore the mangroves and silently sneak up on the many animals and birds that inhabit the park. Overnight Tela. Day 14: Tela - San Pedro Sula Transfer to the San Pedro Sula airport on time to connect to your departure flight or extension program to the beautiful Bay Islands. End of program.
