Caribbean Impressions

Day 1: San Pedro Sula –
Tela
Transfer from San Pedro
Sula to Tela. En route we visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden. The United
Fruit Company founded the gardens over 70 years ago as an experimental
botanical site. Here you will find hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as
well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. You will see how the
bamboo forest absorbs some 90% of the daylight, admire the long rows of
majestic Royal Palms or try exotic fruits fresh from the tree. An Orchid Garden
and a Natural Reserve with a beautiful 1,200 hectares of virgin tropical rainforest
make up this wonderful natural area. We then proceed to our hotel, freetime in
the afternoon. Overnight in Tela.
Day 2: Punta Sal National
Park
In
the early morning we leave by boat to explore the impressive rock formations of
Punta Sal. We visit the sheltered little bays, well hidden among the rocks,
with palm fringed beaches and blue lagoons. We will take a brief forest hike.
The rest of the time we are free to relax on the beach or swim and snorkel in
the crystal clear water and explore the interesting marine life of the world's
second largest Coral Reef, which comes close to the shore at Punta Sal.

Day 3: Tela - Nuevo
San Francisco
Today we take a full day
hike behind the famous Lancetilla Botanical Gardens, in a rain forest and
tropical paradise. This is the perfect place to escape civilization for a few
hours and to experience natural Honduras at its best. This area of tropical
rain forest is home to a lot of birds, colorful butterflies, monkeys and many
other small animals. We will walk in the shade of giant tropical trees, across
streams of fresh mountain water. Typical lunch and return to Tela in the
afternoon. Overnight in Tela.

Day 4: Tela – La Ceiba - Roatán Island
In the
early morning we leave by boat to explore the impressive rock formations of
Punta Sal. We visit the After breakfast we transfer to La Ceiba airport for a 25-minute flight
to Roatán Island. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight Roatán.
Day
5 & 6: Roatán Island
Days left free to enjoy the fun and sun of Roatán.
Some of the best beaches in Central America can be found on Roatán. Many
additional activities can be organised for these days for instance snorkelling,
diving, sea kayaking, water sports, biking or horse riding at an additional
cost. Enjoy. Overnights Roatán.
Day 7: Roatán Island – San Pedro Sula
Morning flight from Roatán
to San Pedro Sula in time to connect with your international departure flight or
extension of your stay with another of our itineraries.
